We adore you, O Christ, and we bless you.
Because by your holy Cross you have redeemed the world.
L et us consider how Jesus, weakened by the continual shedding of His blood fell the first time to the ground. See how those wretches overwhelm Him with blows and kicks, and stripes and yet our patient Lord opens not his lips, but suffers in silence, whilst we in our slightest troubles do murmur and complain, or, perhaps, do even rashly curse or blaspheme. Let us detest this pride and rebellion and say to our afflicted Lord
BELOVED Redeemer,, behold at your feet repentant sinners. How often have we fallen ; how often have we plunged into an abyss of sin! Stretch out your Sacred Hand to raise us. Help us, 0 Jesus, help us! Grant that during the remainder of our lives we may never fall into mortal sin, so that when we come to die, we may secure our eternal Salvation.
Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory, etc.
Jesus crucified, have mercy on us.
