Each of these photos was taken from West
Seattle.
Starting on your left, this is the space
needle.
Now you have turned to the right. The
Smith Tower, which used to be the tallest building west of St. Louis,
is the white building on the far right. The Columbia is the black
building in the center. It is currently the tallest. Compare this
modern view with one from 1908.
Just to the right of the Smith Tower is
the container port.
To the right again is the industrial
area.
All this was a tide flat, but the
city
leveled a hill and filled it in.
