Bowhunter Education Courses

Washington State does not require bowhunting education at this time but other states do. If interested in taking a bowhunter education class check out the Hunting regulations. There is information in the back of the book. Also, you can check out the Web at http://members.aol.complete/WaBowEdPgm/ or you can e-mail me and I will reply with a class and location nearest you. (note: Bowhunter education does not satisfy the training requirements for first time hunters born after January 1, 1972).

Trapper Education

All first time Washington trappers, regardless of age, are required to successfully complete Trapper Education training or successfully challenge the written examination process. Information can be acquired in the back of the Washington State hunting regulations or e-mail me with your request and I will reply with the nearest class to you.

Advanced Hunter Education

Hunter's who successfully complete the AHE "Master Hunter" program are eligible to apply for special AHE permit hunts and to hunt wild turkeys in fall seasons. The AHE program is a voluntary program designed to increase hunter knowledge, improve hunter landowner relationships improving private land access and to expand hunter opportunity. For more information on the AHE program please contact the Hunter Education Program staff at (360) 902-2370.
