GPNF Roadless Areas Overview

The map below shows roadless areas still existing on the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. Following the map is a table listing each area, keyed to the numbers on the map, that has the number of acres within each area. Also given are the acres of roadless areas within Wilderness and Mt. St. Helens NVM and additional acres when an area continues onto private land. The list down the left of the page contains links to those areas with a more deatiled map and/or in depth analysis.

The map and analysis was completed by the Gifford Pinchot Task Force.

The following table is divided into several sections. First are those areas within Wilderness and MSHNVM, then areas 5,000 acres or larger, then areas 1,000 to 4,999 acres, then areas with less than 1,000 acres within GPNF but more than 1,000 acres with private lands added in, and lastly those areas dropped from further analysis for this exercise.
