This Page is about Septic Systems...,

Care and Maintenance".., And The Real Truth about how

They Really Work!!!

This is the "Good Working System"

Its tank catchs all of "Septage and Waste" from the home.

Stopping ALL of the sewage in the tank allowing only the

"Effluent"  to leach out into the "DrainField"

drainfield.gif (9483 bytes)

The DrainField itself is simply perforated pipe set into

a bed of rock and or sand

desystem.JPG (17836 bytes)

This is "The Designed Septic System"

It is virtually the same only with the addition of a

Pump or Lift Chamber after the tank. The Pump is

capable of forcing water into soil that otherwise may

not be suitable for drainage., and in many cases will pump

the effluent uphill to a drainfield located hundreds of yards away!

tank1.JPG (17074 bytes)

This is a new or recently pumped "CLEANED" tank,

As the sewage enters the tank it floats to the top creating

a crust..., over time it breaks-down and falls to the bottom

of the tank becoming "Sludge".

tank2.JPG (16904 bytes)

As time passes the tank becomes due for pumping or a

thorough cleaning.

tank3.JPG (19136 bytes)

This is a tank "OVERDUE". If this tank is let go much longer

it will sludge, soil, and ruin the "EARTH" itself that the DrainField

consists of. When this happens the tank backs up to the house

nothing drains and pumping is a very very short term relief.

YOU WILL FILL A SEPTIC TANK IN 3 to 5 DAYS

with water then your backed up again..., THE FIELD IS DAMAGED.

When a DrainField becomes Sludged the system

has taken ir-repairable damage.,DrainField Replacement is the

only solution to good draining again., "There are no miracle wonder

chemicals that clean the Earth and make everything all better"

To the left is a good Drainfield providing good drainage.

To the right a Nightmare for those who have neglected

to take care of their investment.

Your DrainField is the Most IMPORTANT Part of your System"
